During this unique time of COVID-19, Crosswood Church offers an online option for joining us in worship on a weekly basis. In partnership with Rev. David Hoffman of Marion Epworth United Methodist Church, we produce and post a worship service on our YouTube channel every Sunday morning at 8:30am. You are most welcome to join us in worship online!
Every Sunday morning at 9:30am, you are also welcome to join us in the Crosswood parking lot (1551 Richland Road, Marion) for a drive-in worship service. Simply pull into a parking spot and tune your car radio to 106.5FM. (Some simple precautions for everyone's safety: Please stay in your car at all times. Park a spot away from one another. The church building will not be accessible - this includes the church restrooms. And we will not be handing bulletins into cars or receiving offering envelopes from cars. Click here for our electronic bulletin for our drive-in service.)
In our online services with Marion Epworth United Methodist Church, we cherish classic hymns to the majestic sound of a pipe organ. In our drive-in services at Crosswood (and in our in-person services in the Crosswood sanctuary, once they resume), we cherish classic hymns and praise songs to the touch of a Steinway piano. In all our worship services, you will experience voices lifting high in praise of God, an energetic congregation joining in hymns, and passionate prayer and preaching.
We look forward to a time when we can join one another in the church sanctuary and resume receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion and performing the sacrament of Holy Baptism. These holy moments make up the texture and taste of our worship service.
We want to create an energetic, passionate, uplifting, and Spirit-filled worship experience that connects people to our congregation in love, to a cause greater than themselves, and to the kind of worship that fills a soul and charges everyone's spiritual batteries for the week ahead.
Once we resume in-person worship inside the building, coffee and snacks will be available before the service starts.
Come as you are. Everyone is welcome. Our style is informal and our dress is casual. The service lasts approximately an hour. And typically, our Children's Ministry program offers Junior Church activities for kids age 4 through fifth grade during the worship service on Sunday mornings - when services are inside the building. For now, though, please join us online or in our drive-in services.
We believe each of us is called to be loving and faithful to the needs of the people of the world – and Jesus Christ is the ideal model for us. Jesus gave us a perfect example of what it means to lovingly and faithfully minister to all people and to honor the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of everyone as God created them to be. We welcome all people into the Crosswood church family.
We believe each of us is a work in progress, so we cooperate with God’s Holy Spirit on a moment-by-moment basis to become more and more Christlike in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We believe spiritual transformation occurs when we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible is like an instruction manual for this relationship. The goal of the spiritual life is to more closely resemble Jesus in our actions, words, and attitudes – and to join God in the work He is doing to redeem and renew the world, starting right in our own community.
We strive to befriend all people and to minister among and with them, particularly here in the Marion community. We believe it is important to build faith as early as possible in a person’s life, so we prioritize our Christian Preschool and our Children’s Ministry programs. Together, we support the continual spiritual growth of the church and its people through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.
